RN Cales voyage. 1596. Iunij 2. die ♂. h. 8. 50|45|. h. 8. 45. mi. mor: They set hoyse seas seales to goe towardꝭ Cales. from Plymoth. they went to the lands end in Corwayle but driven back into plymmoth sound by blustering windꝭ. vppō the next friday mor. following

RN 1596. Iunij 4. die ♀ h. 7. m. 45. they s {sic} hoysed sayles & came w^th & were caried w^t fortunate winds to the harbour of Cales & came before the towne vppō ☉ mor: about 5|h|. 5. 50 m. & cast ankre w^thin the shot of the towne & were tossed w^th exceeding boysterous & blustering winds all y^t day & in great iudy to make shipwrack t|&| to leese there ankers. but vppon ☾ mor. 5|h|or. 5. 50 m. mor. they fought togeath^r w^th a hot & doubtfull battle¹ but at lenght gote overcame them w^c caused thē to burne there ships. afterward entred y^e towne & wōne it. at what in the entry they slue S^r Iohn winckfilde

1597. Aug. 7. die ☉ there was an exceeding geat {sic} winde w^th flashing lightning this wind did mutch harme it blasted our beanes it began about 9 & 10. & lasted vntill 8 or 9.

RN we had a great flood 1597. Novemb. 26 27. w^th a great bustling wind incepit circit^r hora 4^ta vs et totā \vs/ noctē et die sequete cotinuabat. die ♄

RN circit^r 7. 45 m. ant m. ning 1597. Decēb. 15. it ceased afore 9. it began about 4. & cōtinued to 8.

RN |1598| Magna tempestas et cella cecidit circit^r 12. et 30. mi. die ☉. 1598 feb: 19. all this day was stormy & windy in extraordinary maner./

RN Mudge my broth^r leaches vicar longe since, came to see me to my howse being as Drunke as he could holde & so lay at Dore pratling & he co knew not what the 9 of Novemb. h die ♃ h. 6. after p m. at night. 1598. this night & the next day following a great whistling bustling winde a wavering roving vnsetled inconstant fellowe given to roving & wandring.¹

RN Iune 8 ♂. h 2. 20. p m hor ♂ I went to M^r Byrds & aft^r a good supper we had talke of the crosse of Ihūs christ & greate Disputation. wheath^r it ough{t} to be vsed in baptisme I or noe. they Denyed it I {ass}{u}med it they held it as a popish & a wicked ceremony. this Disputation was betwixt 8 & 9 of the clocke & about after 9 of the clocke on came to M^r Byrd{s} f|t|o me for physicke w^ch met w^th on that Directed him vppon the stone bridge & told him he should fynde me at M^r Byrds house Iune 8 ♂ hor 8. 30 p m. 1602.
